| What can I learn from this website? |

As we have watched many disasters unfold on national television, it has become very clear that good emergency planning is a critical part in recovery. Being prepared before the emergency will assist in giving our communities an edge to respond as quickly as possible to rescue situations and disaster recovery.
4-H will play a critical role in helping our communities become aware of and learn how to use new technology tools. Intergenerational teams will learn about the readiness of our community’s public safety organizations (fire, police, ambulance, hospital staff, and Search and Rescue), and have the opportunity to share this knowledge with our community officials.
4-H Teams now have the opportunity to organize community service projects that will help their community assess their preparedness for emergency and disaster recovery. The Community Readiness Network website has links to other websites that can help you get organized and prepared. We hope you utilize this website and learn how to prepare your family, home and place of employment in the event of a disaster. Youth and adults can work together to learn how to engage decision makers in creating a local comprehensive community readiness network.
If you are have information for us, please email the information to Sue Emmons at emmonss@unce.unr.edu or fax it to (775) 423-7594 and our team will put your information on this website. Thank you for your support and interest. Last updated: 10/31/06 |
